Tom I didn’t have Osmow’s and Doritos teaming up on a hot new collaboration on my 2025 bingo card, but here we are!
These days it’s a lot more common to see food brands come together to release fun new menu items. We’ve seen Doritos recently work with Subway with the Doritos Footlong Nachos, and now they’ve teamed up with Osmow’s to delight Canadian food fans with the new The Walking Shawarma.

I’m late to the shawarma game, having only discovered this delicious new food within the last 5 years. Osmow’s has been a favourite spot of mine and hearing that they worked with Doritos for a new menu item had me beyond excited.
Anyone who knows me knows that my favourite Doritos flavour is Sweet Chili Heat, so the new The Walking Shawarma spoke very loudly to me.
Here’s the description of what exactly The Walking Shawarma is:
The Walking Shawarma™ takes the viral ‘Walking Taco’ concept that has generated over 64 million TikTok posts and has given it a bold, Middle Eastern and Mediterranean makeover. This Canadian-exclusive creation features a finely carved shawarma protein (such as Falafel, Chicken, Lamb and Beef) and layers it on a bed of crunchy Doritos® Sweet Chili Heat!® tortilla chips, topped with fresh ingredients, mozzarella cheese, Osmow’s signature Rocks™ and drizzled with Osmow’s™ famous sauces – all served directly in the Doritos® bag for Canadians to take on-the-go.
I usually go with rice as my base for my shawarma but the idea of using Sweet Chili Heat Doritos instead, and getting to eat it directly from the bag, is something I need to get out and try as soon as possible.
The Walking Shawarma is available starting July 9th at all of Osmow’s 200+ locations in Canada and is here for a limited time only.
While there is no set end date for the new menu item, the press release did mention that we’ll be able to enjoy it all summer long so it should at the very least be available until the end of August (and hopefully longer).
