One of the biggest contests in Canada each year is Tim Hortons Roll Up To Win. This year the popular promotion returns to its roots by bringing back the iconic ‘roll up’ cups!
Tim Hortons first introduced Roll Up To Win over 35 years ago and while the prizes often changed, the method of rolling up the rim of your cup remained the same up until the covid pandemic. Due to safety concerns, it was switched to a digital only contest through the Tim Hortons mobile app.

While there had already been a digital component to the contest for many years, the switch to being digital only was met with disappointment by many Tim Hortons customers. The only way to participate was if you had a device with the Tim Hortons app. While most people today have smartphones, this still meant many were excluded from playing.
Fast forward to today, and Tim Hortons has just announced that they are bringing back Roll Up To Win cups for their hot beverages this year. This will compliment the digital rolls in the mobile app that you receive by scanning your Tims Rewards card on eligible purchases.
“Guests loved celebrating the 60th anniversary of Tim Hortons with us last year and it inspired us to bring back some classic Roll Up cups this year for a limited time” – Hope Bagozzi, Chief Marketing Officer for Tim Hortons.
This years contest starts February 24, 2025 and runs until March 23, 2025. A few highlights of what you can win this year include electric vehicles, vacations, electronics, gift cards, and as usual, millions of Tims Coffee, Donuts and 10-Pack of Timbits prizes.
The press release mentions that the cups are “while supplies last” and “limited time” multiple times, which makes it seems like they will not be available en masse like during previous promotions. If you want to bring back that nostalgic feeling of rolling up a rim with your thumbs, you’ll want to get to Tim Hortons right when the promotion starts on February 24th.
