McHappy Day is a wonderful day each year where you can visit McDonald’s Canada and help support Ronald McDonald House Charities. This year it returns on May 8th.
The first McHappy Day was in 1977 and since then it has raised over $100 million dollars in funding for Ronald McDonald House Charities.

On McHappy Day, a portion of proceeds from all food and drink items sold will go to help support families with sick children at RMHC chapters in Canada.
If you’re wondering how you can participate this year, it’s actually quite easy and there are even some fun new items you can purchase to help support RMHC.
Here are all the ways you can participate in McHappy Day:
- Every purchase all day on Thursday, May 8, supports families with sick and injured children staying with RMHC across Canada, and other local children’s charities.
- All day on May 8 enjoy $0 delivery fee offered on all McDelivery orders across Canada
- Round Up for RMHC: Available at the Drive-Thru, Kiosk and Front Counter, guests can Round Up their order total to the nearest dollar and donate the difference to RMHC in support of families in their community.
- McHappy Day Socks and Hearts: Starting today, April 8, guests can support families with sick and injured children by purchasing McHappy Day socks for $6 plus tax in 4 different McDonaldland character designs or a McHappy Day Heart with a donation of $2, $5, or $10, available in-restaurant, at the Drive-Thru, or through the McDonald’s app.
Making a purchase in-store is one of the simplest things you can do. Get a nice meal, snack, treat or maybe just a coffee. No matter what food or drink purchase you make on May 8th, you’ll be helping support RMHC.
If you can’t make it to a McDonald’s Canada restaurant, don’t worry. McDelivery orders on the McDonald’s app, DoorDash, SkipTheDishes and UberEats also count. Delivery fees are also being waived on McHappy Day.
One of the most fun ways to participate this year (in my opinion) is by purchasing the limited edition McHappy Day socks. If you’re a fan of McDonald’s like I am, you can go buy these new McDonaldland themed socks that come in 4 fun designs: Grimace, Birdie, McNugget Buddies, and Hamburglar. They’re available in-restaurant right now and are just $6 per pair.
If you’re able to, purchase some socks or head to your local McDonald’s Canada location on May 8th to support McHappy Day in 2025.
No matter how you choose to support RMHC on McHappy Day, you can feel good knowing you’re helping a very good cause.
While you likely won’t be able to get the Minecraft Meal anymore, there will be a brand new set of Happy Meal toys out by then to collect. Make sure to follow us on social media or bookmark our website to see what the next set of toys are.
