McDonald’s Canada Releases Fiery New McSpicy Chicken Sandwich

New McSpicy Chicken Sandwich at McDonald's Canada

It’s been a cold, snowy winter but you’ll start to feel the heat soon because McDonald’s Canada just released a fiery new McSpicy Chicken Sandwich!

McDonald’s Canada has been teasing customers via social media this week about a hot new sandwich coming out soon. Today they revealed the name of the new creation and it’s called the McSpicy.

As the name suggests, it’s got some kick to it and is aimed towards those who like things on the higher end of the Scoville scale.

Here’s a description of the new McSpicy as seen in a marketing email released by McDonald’s Canada today:

“Golden bun. Juicy, seasoned chicken. But looks can be deceiving – the NEW McSpicy hides a fiery kick behind its delicious exterior. Marinated, battered and breaded in a fiery seasoning blend, this patty turns up the heat with every bite.”

It looks very much like a regular chicken sandwich at first sight, however as the description reveals, the true spiciness of the sandwich is disguised in the chicken patty itself that’s marinated AND battered and breaded in a spicy seasoning blend.

The price of the McCrispy is $6.99 and comes in at 540 calories (information pulled from the McDonald’s mobile app, pricing may vary from restaurant to restaurant). It comes standard with mayo-style sauce but you can opt for an even spicier sandwich by adding spicy habanero sauce (extra charges may apply).

In addition to the McSpicy, McDonald’s Canada also introduced a new Spicy Mango Fruit Splash beverage.

“Sweet mango and heat collide to create the ultimate spicy sidekick for the McSpicy. Fair warning: this drink is not here to chill.”

Personally speaking, I’m not a fan of spicy drinks, however those that are may find this refreshing. You can get a medium for $2.69 starting today (pricing may vary from restaurant to restaurant).
