Tom Bringing back popular menu items is an easy way for restaurants to get customers excited and McDonald’s Canada is doing just that with the return of the Hot Honey McCrispy!
Now back for a second time, the Hot Honey McCrispy is a fantastic twist on the already popular McCrispy chicken sandwich at McDonald’s Canada.
The Hot Honey McCrispy is made with 100% Canadian-raised seasoned chicken, topped with hot honey sauce, crispy jalapeños, shredded lettuce, and mayo-style sauce, all perfectly put together on a potato bun (my personal fave bun at McDonald’s).
The Hot Honey McCrispy was officially reintroduced to the menu on May 13th and is here for a limited time only.
It’s available in two different options, the regular Hot Honey McCrispy, and the Bacon Hot Honey McCrispy. The latter of which just adds bacon strips to the regular option. The prices at my local McDonald’s are $7.39 and $8.79 respectively (your mileage may vary as pricing can vary from restaurant-to-restaurant).

I had the pleasure of trying it this week and here are my quick thoughts.
I’m a big fan of hot honey sauce and there’s been a recent craze of restaurants adding it to their menus. At first glance it looks very much like a regular McCrispy sandwich.
It wasn’t until inspecting it more closely that you could tell that there’s an extra sauce (the hot honey), and the crispy jalapeños.
My first bite was very flavourful, with an immediate sweetness of the hot honey and just a bit of heat. The crispy jalapeños are where you’ll get most of the heat from and it builds on your tongue with each bite you take. Overall I’d rate the spiciness at a 6/10, however everyones spice tolerance is different.
The sweetness from the hot honey sauce balances the heat out very nicely. If you can’t handle spicy foods, I recommend sticking with the regular non-spicy McCrispy. Overall I give the Hot Honey McCrispy a 8/10.
