IKEA Canada is Launching an Exciting New Menu to Celebrate the Swedish Meatballs 40th Anniversary

IKEA Canada introduces bold new menu in 2025

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of IKEA Canada‘s famous Swedish Meatballs, the company is launching a bold and exciting new menu.

When you think of IKEA, you can’t help but think of their huge selection of affordable home furnishings and also their iconic Swedish Meatballs.

It’s been a staple of the IKEA food court for decades, and it’s the perfect way to start (or end) your shopping trip. It’s evolved over the years and even inspired variations such as the chicken ball and plant ball. You can even buy them frozen to take home and enjoy.

IKEA Canada is going big for the Swedish Meatballs 40th anniversary by adding a total of 6 new dishes to their menu in late Fall 2025.

Here are the details of the new menu additions and how much each will cost you:

  • Plant ball nachos with pico de gallo and jalapeno aioli, $6.99
  • Eight-piece plant balls with roasted potatoes, scallions, pesto and parmesan cheese, $8.99
  • Eight-piece falafel balls with couscous, mixed vegetables, garlic aioli and a lemon vinaigrette, $8.99
  • Six-piece cod balls served alongside French fries and kale salad with Lingonberry vinegrette and tartar sauce, $9.99
  • Chicken ball tikka masala served with rice, yogurt and naan, $9.99
  • Salmon filet dinner with roasted pesto potatoes, peas, and lingonberry kale in a hollandaise sauce, $11.99

IKEA Canada has always been a leader in having both an inclusive and affordable menu. There’s a nice mix of both non-meat and meat options within the price range of $6.99 and $11.99.

“At IKEA Canada, we believe food should be joyful, inclusive, and accessible to all,” says Elena Pozueta Larios, Head of IKEA Food at IKEA Canada

While food offerings at IKEA Canada do change from time to time, it’s rare to see this many new items be added to their menu at once. One of their more recent menu updates was when they added a new Deluxe Breakfast this past Spring.

While there’s no set date for the new menus launch, it should be here before before the end of December as they’ve listed “late Fall” in their announcement.

The new menu will be available at all of IKEA Canada’s food court locations, however their small-format stores (Scarborough Town Centre and Downtown Toronto) will only be offering a reduced version of the new menu.

Personally speaking, the new dishes being added to the menu all sound amazing and I can’t wait to try them. The Salmon Filet Dinner and Plant Based Nachos will definitely be my first two choices though.
