Tom Oreo has collaborated with musical artists on special limited edition releases before, but none of these have been released in Canada… until now that is!
Canadians have had to watch from the sidelines as Oreo partnered with the likes of Lady Gaga and most recently, Post Malone on limited edition Oreo cookies collaborations.
Their newest collaboration is with pop superstar and actress Selena Gomez and yes, they are officially confirmed to be released in Canada.
Selena worked closely with the OREO brand to develop a one-of-a-kind sweet-and-spiced flavour combo. Inspired by her love of horchata, the cookies include a layer of chocolate and cinnamon flavour creme atop a layer of sweetened condensed milk flavour creme with cinnamon sugar inclusions, all sandwiched between two chocolate cinnamon flavoured wafers.
From the description it looks like these new cookies will primarily have a chocolate and cinnamon flavour while adding a sweetened condensed milk flavoured cream layer.
There are 6 unique designs to discover in each package including one that spells out “Selenators” (what fans of Selena call themselves). To make things even more fun, there’s an exclusive rare cookie that features Selena’s autograph on it that will appear in approximately every 3 packages of cookies.
If you’re a collector like me, you’ll definitely want to snag that rare cookie to save and show your grandkids one day!
Knowing that Selena worked directly with Oreo to develop this flavour makes me even more excited to give these a try.
“Making my own OREO cookie was a lot of fun. I grew up loving them, so being able to be a part of the process was a full-circle moment,” said Selena Gomez. “I wanted to find a way for it to feel comforting and have a bit of nostalgia from my childhood. The cinnamon flavour gives it this horchata feel, and I’m excited for my fans to try it.”
The new Selena Gomez Oreo cookies are scheduled for release in Canada on June 9th, and will be available nationwide at most grocery stores and other retailers that stock the brands products.
Remember that these will be available for a limited time only and while supplies last. While there is likely going to be a big production run, fans will probably be scooping these up quickly.
Often you can find scheduled release products early at select stores, so keep an eye out in early June as you may get lucky and find them before the official June 9th release date.
