Tom A&W’s burger lineup just got a major upgrade because they’ve just introduced a brand new Steakhouse Teen Burger to their menu!
The Teen Burger is arguably A&W’s most famous and popular burger. So much so that it’s often the centre of many special promotions like the recent $4.99 Teen Burger deal, and they even teamed up with the Toronto Maple Leafs to offer a deal on game days.
The new Steakhouse Teen Burger puts a fun and tasty twist on the classic Teen Burger by adding bacon jam, peppercorn aioli, and arugula. This is on top of real cheddar cheese, fresh tomatoes, and A&W’s famous grass-fed beef which is raise without hormones or steroids.
I’m always up for trying new foods at quick service restaurants and this one has me salivating with excitement.
A&W explored over 50 new recipes in their quest to produce a new limited time menu offering. Some of the runners up included an Everything Bagel Teen Burger, a Cacio e Pepe Teen Burger, and a Chocolate Teen Burger.
The Steakhouse Teen Burger emerged as the winner after over 700 Canadian burger fans ranked it as the best new option. It’s also amazing to know that A&W has a list of over 700 burger fans (which sadly I am not a part of).
“Bacon jam offers sweet and smoky notes, so we kept that as our hero ingredient in this new Steakhouse Teen Burger recipe,” says Karan Suri, Senior Director, Innovation at A&W. “It pairs beautifully with the savoury depth of the new peppercorn aioli and the vibrant, peppery crunch of the fresh arugula that we added. These ingredients are going to bring that true steakhouse taste to our guests.”
At my local A&W locations in Toronto the new Steakhouse Teen Burger is priced the same as the classic Teen Burger at $8.49 each. Your mileage my vary as pricing can differ from restaurant-to-restaurant.
In addition to the Steakhouse Teen Burger, A&W is also offering a Steakhouse Buddy Burger which offers up the same unique toppings (bacon jam, peppercorn aioli, and arugula). It’s a great option for those with smaller appetites.
